Episode 11 - Flip Flop Amanda's Gone

Another week, another idol played, even though it wasn't needed, but I think Russell was smart to play it, because he was marked, but he found out about it.  I think that Candice flipping was a good move for her, because even if she stayed with the Heroes and Sandra, she may not have been any better off.  With Sandra flipping as well, that puts a target on her head, but from the previews it appears that the Villains are breaking up... but don't always believe what you see in the previews.

The reward challenge was fun and I always like it when the pressure is on and the last person comes through.  Colby got to spend the night with two girls and watch them fight over an immunity clue.  Amanda gave back the clue, which I'm not sure I would have done.  Danielle may have found it, but possession is 9/10 of the law and she was dumb to put it on the ground.  She should have sat on it like Russell did when he found the idol.  If Danielle was smart, she would have gone looking for it by herself and not told anyone until she found it, but since it has been played, the idol will be back out in circulation.  I'd love to see Russell find it again, without a clue.

The immunity challenge was great.  Russell had a great base, but could have made it a little smaller and still had the stability.  Jerri was so close to knocking hers down, but she played it smart and it was nice to see her win immunity.

Now that there are only 3 Heroes left, one would think that they will get picked off one by one, but if the Villains are fracturing as the previews indicate, then that will benefit the Heroes.  It shall be interesting to see.  I think there may be some truth to the fracturing, but I bet that either a hidden immunity or the immunity necklace will save the targeted villain and Colby will go home.  Why Colby, because he is the biggest immunity threat and Jerri will want to outlast him again.

So until next week... the Tribe has spoken.

Episode 10 - Parvati is the best player to ever play the game!

Tonight's episode was probably the best episode in Survivor history. While JT and company were stupid to trust Russell, they hedged their bets and made everyone think that Parvati was going home but instead decided to vote Jerri. That was a smart move and it would have worked had Amanda not spoken to Parvati. Even though Amanda didn't come out and say they weren't voting for Parvati, it was obvious, as we could tell from Parvati's comments and when Russell gave her his hidden immunity idol, it was brilliant, even though he didn't know it.

With Danielle having immunity and Russell was safe, as the Heroes were playing it safe, Parvati took the gamble that she read Amanda correctly and decided to pass both immunity idols to the two players that were vulnerable, Sandra and Jerri, which in turn sent J.T. home. Truly Amazing and Parvati deserves to win this season because of that move alone.

Now let's step back a little bit to Rupert. He usually is as dumb as a stick when it comes to strategy, but this time he either got lucky or was on his game. By listening to Sandra, that clued them off that Russell was lying and caused them to hedge their bets with voting for Jerri. So I give him props for that. J.T. proved he is very close to Erik as the stupidest Survivor, but I still think Erik holds the title.

The immunity challenge was great. I don't quite know why Candice stepped down, other than she thought the Heroes had it in the bag, but I was not surprised at all that 3 women were left. Parvati was smart to step down, even though that gave the Heroes further cause to believe she had the idol, but it did give Danielle immunity.

Now the Previews show that Sandra is trying to take the game over, but I think it is just misleading and it won't work out. I think Sandra will still be in the game though, because Russell still needs her until at least two more Heroes are gone. Once the Villains are up 5 -2, then Russell can get rid of Sandra, if he wants, but I think he may try to get rid of Parvati, since he feels betrayed by the secret. Then again Parvati is a good talker and may convince Russell that it was ok and had she told him, the Heroes probably would be up 5-4 right now, as I'm not sure Russell would have gone for it.

This by far is the best season of Survivor to date and I really hope they release this one on DVD, but they haven't released a season on DVD in a while, so it is unlikely. So great episode and I can't wait until next week. So until then... the Tribe has spoken.

Episode 9 - JT has just made a dumb move.

I almost said that JT was the stupidest survivor ever, but even if he goes next week, that is not true because Erik from Season 16 holds that honor. JT will come in second though, unless by some sort of luck (which isn't going to happen), Russell does come to their side.

It is interesting that Parvati and Russell now both have idols and they can pretty much control this game. Parvati is playing smart though, getting Danielle on her side and trying to get Courtney, but it just didn't work out. If I was them, I would have voted out Sandra, because she has new life now that they are merging next episode and the game is about to change. I was already wrong on my next to go , but I still stick with the order, just taking Courtney out of the mix, the rest will go as predicted. ;-)

The Villains were smart and had the advantage anyway, by having Russell sit out of the reward challenge, as the girls clearly had the advantage in that challenge. I like the twist on the challenge where they were going against people from the other tribe as opposed to everyone for themselves.

I think Russell purposefully didn't try in the immunity challenge, so he could get the idol, once Colby told him about it. I'm not sure even if he did try that the Villains would have had a chance, but it didn't matter.

Should be a fun rest of the season and I hope that my prediction is at least close, because I really want to see Sandra get farther and I think she is safe for at least two more weeks, especially if she either flops or the villains regain the numbers.

Thanks for reading and see you next week. Until then, the Tribe has spoken.

Episode 8 - Russell may have met his match

As predicted the Villains sucked without Rob and it proves what I said before, Jerri and Coach are stupid. Even though Coach didn't write Rob's name down, he could have voted for Russell, but he didn't and Sandra made sure he got it this episode. Of course it wasn't because the way he voted last time, but it was do save Courtney's butt.

I loved it when the Villains showed up to the reward challenge with all their stuff, and while they played it up in the previews like something major was happening, it was just delayed longer than they thought. I love it the Candice called out JT to Amanda and they realize that he is a slime bag, which he was on his original season as well, but he plays it off well. And the previews show that JT wants to give the hidden immunity idol to Russell, because they think there is a women's alliance on the Villains tribe and Russell is the odd man out. That just goes to show how stupid they all are. While it is a possible reason, to assume that blindly will cost you the game.

In the immunity challenge, once again the Heroes dominated and the Villains sent the strongest, best performer in the challenge home. But that shows the brilliance of Sandra and how she manipulated Russell and Russell thinks he was the one that came up with it. Sandra controlled that vote and if they voted off Courtney, then Danielle controlled the vote. Russell is still sitting pretty good in the game, but I'd love to see Sandra ultimately take him out or what a final tribal council, with her, Parvati and Russell. That would be a tough vote.

Coach becomes the first Jury member, which means there will be 9 jury members and 3 in the finals. I wish Rob would have made it at least to the Jury, because that would have been fun, but there are some good personalities left, so we should have a decent final.

I will go out on a limb and predict the remaining boot order. This is just my gut feeling and is not based on any insider info.

JT
Colby
Courtney
Amanda
Danielle
Rupert
Candice
Jerri

Final 3
Parvati
Russell
Sandra (Winner)

Again pure speculation and really the way I would love to see it play out. Actually I'd like Amanda to last longer, but I don't think she will get too much farther than that.

So until next week... The Tribe has spoken!

Episode 7 - "You are a Little Man"

That quote just about sums up this episode of Survivor. Jerri and Coach are both a bunch of idiots, even more so than Tyson. The previews show that, because while you can't totally trust Rob, you can never trust Russell. But before we continue on that, let's start back at the beginning of the episode.

The Heroes are in a similar situation that Russell was in last season, where they have to work together regardless and they know that. They did an excellent job in both challenges and deserved both of the wins. Courtney did hurt the Villains in the immunity challenge, but Sandra didn't seem like she was much help either. In the reward challenge, I'm wondering why they left Coach in all three rounds, as he was pretty worthless and Rob would have been a better match up for Colby.

Speaking of Colby, it was nice to see him step it up and do good for a change. He is one of my favorites and of everyone on the Heroes that is left, Amanda and Colby are the only two I care about. Rupert is just too annoying, JT already won and is a snake and I like Candice, but I don't care if she goes home.

Now that the Villains don't have Rob, I'm rooting for Russell to do what he didn't do last time, but I'm not as happy about it this time. As far as I'm concerned Coach needs to go home, because for a man that proclaims to have honor, he sure puts himself in a lot positions to betray that honor, which he did tonight. I wouldn't mind Sandra winning again, as I've always liked her and really Parvati could easily win this as well.

It shall be interesting for sure and I would have liked to see Russell and Rob go at it a little more, but we knew it wasn't going to happen. So until next week... the Tribe has spoken.
